Stephen Mc Gowan

I’m the founder of TrolleyRelay, an AI-native SaaS company I’m building solo as an experiment in AI autonomy: product design, development and operations all run on a fully AI-enabled process. Working this way, as one human with AI agents, I’ve shipped over 500 production pull requests in four months.

I also work with organisations on Applied AI Consulting: adopting a fully AI-enabled SDLC, deploying frontier AI safely in regulated industries, and building with GenAI and knowledge graphs. Recently that has meant leading a global insurer’s AI SDLC rollout, AI governance framework and agentic AI proofs of concept.

Over 15+ years I’ve built foundational technical teams from scratch four times, in founder and leadership roles across start-ups, scale-ups and global enterprises: co-founder and CTO of Realta Logic, a regtech built on 20+ years of legal informatics research into digitising regulation; first CTO of My Emergency Doctor, an emergency telemedicine provider named the AFR’s 3rd most innovative health company in 2021; Head of Technology at Ashurst Digital Ventures; solutions and integration lead at Oneview Healthcare through its scale from 20 to 150+ staff and ASX listing; and co-founder of Cernam, an online-evidence company acquired by Daybreak Technologies. My career spans financial services, health and legal, across Australia, the USA and Ireland.

I also mentor founders and early-stage businesses with Inspiring Rare Birds and Uber Business Booster.
